The Dale Church of Christ, 201 N. Oklahoma in Dale, will hold services Oct. 11-14, featuring Virgil Trout as speaker. On Sunday services will be 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Wednesday services will begin at 7 p.m.
Trout is a thinker and speaker gifted in helping listeners to understand the profound relationships between religion, science and ethics. He has made presentations on college campuses since 1952 at more than a third of the major universities in the United States on Christianity, science and ethics.
His background includes being a speaker for more than 55 years for churches, colleges, high schools and civic organizations in Africa, Asia, Europe and in 44 states. During the 1980s, he was a scriptwriter and broadcaster for short-wave programs beamed into the Soviet Union, The People’s Republic of China and Japan. He was an after-dinner speaker for the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce Goodwill Tours for 26 years.
Virgil Trout has served as a minister for the Churches of Christ in Lubbock, Texas, Oklahoma City and Dallas and has served the Maxwell Avenue Church of Christ since 1991. He is currently serving the Ardmore area as a minister of community service.
