Western Fair events to benefit St. John

Today’s Western Fair Trail Ride in Prague will offer a variety of activities for all ages. The event will be held at the Prague Lake Recreation Area, and proceeds benefit the building program of St. John Lutheran Church, 215 W. Wallace, Shawnee.
The day begins with a trail ride at 10 a.m. Riders will traverse the 8.3-mile trek around Prague Lake before arriving back to base about 2 p.m.
An auction, which includes tack, western home accessories, a 100-year-old “pew for two” and other items, begins at 2 p.m.
Dinner includes pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, coleslaw, dessert and drink from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. After dinner, the local group Ironhorse will perform.
Cost for the trail ride with dinner is $45 for adults and $25 for youth ages 6-12. Dinner only tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for youth ages 6-12. Children under 5 are admitted free.
