Golden Hearts senior group from Fairview Baptist Church enjoyed a “Taste of Italy” theme Oct. 3 during the monthly luncheon.
The menu featured pasta dishes, salads and desserts. Tables were decorated with various types of dry pasta, and people enjoyed a game of “seek and find” filled with Italian words. Prizes were awarded to winners.
Two new mission projects were launched for the month.

First Baptist Church of Shawnee will hold its Fall Festival 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Oct. 26 in the fellowship hall of the church, 10th and Union.
Volunteers and donations are needed, including wrapped candy, small non-candy prizes, bags of chips and decorated cupcakes and cookies. Cash donations are welcome.
Volunteer sign-up sheets are available in the church’s welcome center.
Those who attend the festival are encouraged to wear their favorite costumes and sign up for Trunk or Treat. Corn dogs, chicken nuggets, desserts and lemonade will be served.

Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee will hold its Family Friendly Fall Festival from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 25, at the church, 302 E. Independence.
Activities include a pumpkin carving contest, free food, games, candy and crafts.
