Vacation Bible School at Romulus Baptist Church will be held July 16-20 to the theme of “Beach Party.”
The VBS will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and is for elementary age children. Each night will include Bible stories, crafts and more.

Pink Baptist Church will hold a benefit yard sale 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today.
Proceeds will benefit the church’s West Virginia mission trip July 23-27. Church members plan to provide 400 backpacks full of school supplies to children in Oceana, W.V., a mining town in economic distress. Repairs to a church also are planned.
Pink Baptist Church is at 31187 SH 9, on the southeast corner of SH 9 and Okay Road.

Vacation Bible School begins Monday at Crosstown Outreach Church, 622 S. Park, and continues through Friday. Hours are 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and it is open to ages 4 through adults. For more information, call John Campbell, pastor, at 598-33301.

“Outrigger Island” Vacation Bible School begins Sunday at Shawnee First Indian Baptist Church, Minnesota and Darrow streets. A luau begins at 5 p.m., and VBS runs from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It continues from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. through Thursday. There are classes for children age 3 through adults. Calvary Baptist Church, 14 W. Farrall in Shawnee, invites children ages 1 through sixth grade to Vacation Bible School July 14-18.

Summer Festival will be held noon to 4 p.m. today at Woodland Veterans Park. Sponsored by Faith Christian Outreach, Calvary Chapel and Evangelistic Center and Shawnee Rescue Mission, the event will feature inflatable games, clowns, face painting, snow cones, hot dogs, hamburgers and drawings for bikes and toys. Clothes, shoes, toiletries and food will be available to those in need.
