Steele to speak at Aglow meeting

SHAWNEE, Okla. —

Rep. Kris Steele will speak at the Shawnee Aglow meeting at noon Thursday at Woodland Veterans Park. In case of rain, the meeting will be held at the Shawnee Public Library.
Steele will lead the “Cry Out, America” prayer to commemorate the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11, 2001. Special songs will be sung, and prayers for America will be made. The event is linked with Awakening America Alliance.
Steele received a bachelor’s degree in religion from Oklahoma Baptist University and a master’s degree in education from East Central University. He won election to the House of Representatives from District 26 in 2000. He is married to the former Kellie Kursar; their daughters are MacKenzie and Madison. Steele is the associate minister at Wesley United Methodist Church.
