SHAWNEE, Okla. —
The interfaith organization Mission Shawnee sponsors Shepherds Kids' Cafe, which serves a free meal at 11:30 a.m. every weekday this summer at several local sites, through July 25. Officials with the organization estimate that 9,500 to 10,000 lunches will be served, an increase from last year. Dr. Bob Dawson with Mission Shawnee said all but the last two or three weeks of the serving time have been covered financially, but more donations and volunteers are encouraged.
