TECUMSEH, Okla. —

Tecumseh’s First Baptist Church will welcome Adam Forgety as associate pastor of students and worship during the 10:45 a.m. service Sunday. Pastor Clark Frailey said Forgety will lead student ministries, worship services, choirs/praise teams and assist with the church’s commitment to family ministry.
“Incredibly gifted in music, Adam has a passion for working with today’s students,” Frailey said. “His keen insight into the application of worship as a tool to communicate God’s eternal truth of redemption and grace to all ages is essential in a world with so many mixed messages.”
Forgety, a 2008 music education graduate from East Central University in Ada, previously served as youth/music intern at First Baptist Seminole, music and youth director at First Baptist Konawa, and youth/children’s intern at Trinity Baptist Church in Ada.
Forgety said he plans on leading students to become “lifelong learners and teachers of Jesus Christ.”  Much of this will center on a centralized curriculum that ties Sunday morning learning to an application-oriented Wednesday night experience.
A 2003 graduate of Seminole High School, Forgety was a member of the National Honor Society and vice president of his class. During his senior year in high school, he felt God leading him into ministry, he said. Many of the relationships he developed at Seminole First Baptist Church were a big part of his decision to enter ministry, he said.
On June 21, Forgety married Khylee Rankin of Shawnee, who will be a Spanish teacher in Shawnee this fall.
Tecumseh First Baptist Church is at 301 S. Broadway in Tecumseh. For more information, visit www.tecumsehfirst.com.
