Church holds baptismal service at lake

SHAWNEE, Okla. —

More than 50 members and friends of Freedom Assembly of God Church gathered at Shawnee Lake Aug. 24 for a baptismal service followed by a cookout, games and fellowship.
During the service, 18 recent converts to Christ were baptized in water by Donnie Knight, pastor, in keeping with Jesus’ commandment in Matthew 28:19. Knight was assisted by his wife, Jacque, and youth leader De Billings.
Freedom Assembly of God invites everyone in the area to attend its services. The church is about one-half mile east of Resthaven Cemetery on SH 3E.
Sunday morning service times are Sunday School at 9:45 a.m. and morning worship at 10:45 a.m. with a nursery provided. Sunday evening worship is at 6 p.m.
At 7 p.m. Wednesdays, adult Bible study and children’s/youth service and activities are held.
