Trying to compete?
I agree with the caller about the prices at the YMCA. I thought this was supposed to be a community place for everybody to go, but my understanding is that they’re trying to compete with OBU’s new sports building. That’s just not right. This YMCA is supposed to be for everybody. And the fact that they don’t have day passes looks to me like they’ll be losing money.
Please advise youth
I hope someone will advise teenagers not to travel to school alone and please, parents, don’t let 6-year-olds ride bicycles in the street.
Grateful for trash service
I just wanted to say thanks to our trash service in Shawnee. My trash is picked up on time every week. The nice man who drives the truck even waited and watched me while I wheeled my polycart down my driveway, wrestling with my crutches.
Source of money
Where’s the money coming from to pay for the ads running regarding making the county tax permanent now instead of five years from now?
Scoopie’s response: The funds for the ads are from private individuals who are supporting passage of this tax. There are no public funds involved in paying for the ads.
