Schultz tallies 24 in victory over McLoud

PRAGUE — Nine Prague girls made the scoring column Tuesday night in a 72-41 triumph over McLoud.

None of the Prague starters played in the final quarter after Prague established a 60-21 advantage.

Ella Schultz topped Prague’s scoring with 24 points. Savanna Hilbun added 12 points, including two treys, while Macyn Anderson collected 12 points on four 3-point field goals.

Gabby Sears of McLoud canned six treys in scoring a team-high 18 points. Sears has hit 12 treys in the last two games.

Katelyn Hoover posted 12 points for McLoud.

“We pressed them hard and forced several turnovers,” Prague coach Benny Burnett said.

Prague, 5-2, will compete in the Bethany Tournament Thursday through Saturday. The Lady Red Devils will take on Bethel at 1 p.m. Thursday at Southern Nazarene University.

McLoud, 2-7, will compete against Ripley at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kellyville Tournament.

Jacobs ignites Prague over McLoud

PRAGUE — The Red Devils of Prague opened the post-Christmas portion of their schedule with a 69-42 blitz of McLoud Tuesday night.

Thirteen Red Devils saw action with 9 scoring.

Jackson Jacobs was accurate on four 3-point field goals while leading Prague (6-1) with 18 points. Tristin Jorgensen of Prague notched 15 points and teammate Ray Embry added 11. Embry also dominated the rebound department.

Prague was 12 of 14 from the charity stripe with Jorgensen going 5 of 6.

Sophomore Brandon Vinson was McLoud’s only double-figure scorer with 12.

The hosts were up just 29-25 at halftime but outscored McLoud 16-9 in the third quarter and 24-8 over the final eight minutes.

Prague will open play at 8:20 p.m. Thursday in first-round action of the Ripley Tournament.

McLoud will play Thursday through Saturday at the Bethany Tournament at Southern Nazarene University.
