Ada girls overwhelm visiting Tecumseh

ADA — Peyton Taylor poured in 14 points and Madalyn Jossepe notched 12 Tuesday night as Ada’s girls knocked off Tecumseh 53-33.

Ada led 25-13 at halftime and 42-31 after three quarters.

For Tecumseh (1-8), Sierra Chafin and Annie Boatman collected 7 points apiece. Chafin had one 3-point field goal.

Tecumseh will launch play Thursday in the Stroud Tournament. The Lady Savages will meet Preston at 4:20 p.m. The tournament runs through Saturday.

Axton nets 19 points in losing cause

ADA — Tecumseh’s Daniel Axton supplied 19 points in a losing cause Tuesday night as Ada registered a 58-44 victory.

Ada held a 24-18 halftime cushion and went up 35-28 after three quarters.

Ben Pruitt of Åda recorded a game-high 27 points, including three field goals from beyond the 3-point line.

Kobe Burgess added 14 points for Ada as it upped its record to 8-1.

Ryan Fullbright of Tecumseh chipped in with 10 points.

Axton was 4 of 7 from 3-point range.

Fullbright was Tecumseh’s leading rebounder with 6. Kameron Permetter added 5 assists and 3 steals.

“It was a tough game,” Tecumseh coach Eric Litherland said. “Our guys played hard.”

Tecumseh, 5-4 with all of the losses to ranked teams, will meet Seminole at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Stroud Tournament.
