RIPLEY – Chandler gave up a 15 point third quarter lead, but held on to win a late battle against Newkirk 46-44 in the semifinals of the Ripley Tournament Saturday night.

The Lady Lions held a 16-9 lead at halftime and pulled ahead 37-22 after three before giving up a 22-9 run as they narrowly held on for the win.

The Lady Lions biggest struggle came from the free throw line, where they were only 9-of-23.

Sisters Neleigh and Baleigh Herring led the Lady Lions with 11 poitns apiece and Blayne Solberg had nine.

The Lady Lions will play for the tournament title on Monday.
