12th-ranked Chandler easy winner 

CHANDLER — Chandler’s girls, ranked 12th in Class 3A, upended turnover-plagued Meeker 55-15 Tuesday night in a Lincoln County encounter.

Fifteen Lady Lions were employed and 10 scored .

Chandler (9-3) received 10 points from Blayne Solberg, 9 from Neleigh Herring and 7 from Jayden Solberg.

The Lady Lions led 24-8 at the half and 42-11 entering the final quarter.

Meeker (6-7) received 3 points apiece from Ashley Vanschuyver, Aubrey Pruitt and Cheyenne Kauley.

“We probably turned the ball over 30 times and they made us pay,” Meeker coach Clay Plunk said.

Meeker will resume its schedule Tuesday in opening-round action of the 66 Conference Tournament at Okemah.

Meeker will play Holdenville at 4 p.m. Meeker is 2-0 against Holdenville this season.

Whitfield spurs Lions over Meeker

CHANDLER — Junior Josh Whitfield chalked up a game-high 29 points Tuesday night to fuel Meeker to a 72-61 victory over Lincoln County rival Chandler.

Drew Ellis, with 15 points, was one of seven other Chandler players to score.

Trey Lewis supplied 14 points for Chandler. Teammate Malachi Davis added 11.

Tanner German and Caleb Elmore put in 9 points apiece for the Lions.

Chandler will have a return match with Meeker (4-9) Tuesday at the 66 Conference Tournament in Okemah.
