LITTLE AXE – It was smooth sailing for the Prague boys and girls basketball teams Saturday night at Little Axe. The 3A-No. 19 boys deposited their counterparts 72-40 while the Lady Red Devils crushed the Little Axe girls 63-36.

Ella Schultz had nearly half the total for the Prague girls with 30 points to lead all scorers. Caya Wright had 13 and Macyn Anderson, Adisyn Auld and Beth Denny had four apiece.

The girls were 19-of-27 from the line where Schultz was 8-11 and Auld went 4-4.

Little Axe was led in scoring by Kaleigh Clagg with 17 points.

The win moved the Prague girls to 11-7 on the season.


The shots were dropping for 13 players from the Red Devils Saturday to move to 15-3 on the season.

Tristan Lester led all 13 Prague scorers and seven from Little Axe with 15 points and the team was 26-32 from the charity stripe. Gage Cantrell had 10 points, Isaac Bloomer nine and Jackson Jacobs and Ray Embry put up seven apiece. Cantrell and Lester were each 8-9 from the line.

The Red Devils powered ahead early and led 48-10 at the halfway mark.

“The kids came out tonight and took care of business and got a big win for both of us,” coach Glenn Headley said.

The teams will be on the road Tuesday night at Stroud.
