EARLSBORO – The Earlsboro girls showed some fight Tuesday in a 70-48 home loss to Sasakwa.

The Lady Wildcats trailed 19-7 at the end of the first, but pulled out a 14-10 run through the 3:05 mark in the second, capped on a fast-break layup by Abbey McCarroll. The girls gave up an 11-2 run sending the Lady Vikings to the free-throw line three times where they were 4-6, to find themselves trailing 40-23 at the halfway point.

The Lady Wildcats could only muster a couple more short runs throughout the second half but gave up multiple runs to Sasakwa.

Casey Clark led the Lady Wildcats with 16 points in the contest, Kaitelyn Bohannon had 12 and McCarroll had eight.

Sasakwa's Areyona Morgal led all scorers with 26 points and Presley Kirkwood had 22 with four 3-pointers.

The Lady Wildcats (1-20) will be back in action Friday night for the beginning of playoffs as they host 2-17 Wanette. Tipoff is set for 6:30.
