DALE – There was no shortage of points in Class 2A-No. 1 Dale's 80-34 blitzing of Wewoka Friday night.
The Lady Pirates trailed 12-8 with four minutes left in the first quarter before Claire Chastain drained a triple to start Dale on a 32-7 run to the halfway point to lead 43-19. They kept up the attack with a 17-4 run in the third and the starters took a seat for most of the fourth.
Chastain led the Lady Pirates with 18 points, 10 rebounds and six blocks. Dani Manning had 15 points and five assists Hannah Ash had 11 points. 12 girls in total contributed to Dale's points total and Lindy Nowakowski had nine rebounds.
“I was proud of everybodies effort, I was proud of everybody who came off the bench, I thought they did a good job. A lot of the girls that came off the bench really produced on both ends of the floor,” coach Josh Forsythe said.
The Lady Pirates (22-2) will play their final game of the regular season Monday as they host No. 9 in Class 4A Newcastle (14-4) for Senior Night.
“They're a very well-coached team, they can all score and we're going to have to play exceptional defense,” Forsythe said.
