OKEMAH – McLoud earned a couple of good wins early in their season Saturday with a 13-0 blanking to Okemah and 6-3 victory over Okarche at the Okemah Festival.

Destiny Burge and Makyna Higdon each had two hits with a homer and Katelyn Hoover singled three times to shut out Okemah with 13 runs on 18 hits.

The girls had a little more of a struggle against Okarche, allowing nine hits and three runs.

McLoud got two runs in the bottom of the first to lead 2-1 and added another in the second and never gave up the lead after.

Callie Cardin had three hits with a double and triple and was a homer away from the cycle. Shyann Shipman had two hits with a triple and Rylee Walker singled twice.

The Lady Redskins (4-1) host Konawa Monday at 4 p.m. followed by Okemah at 6:30.
