DEL CITY — Shawnee, propelled by a 14-run third inning, blasted Del City 25-2 Monday.

The game was stopped after five innings via the run rule.

Shawnee (10-0) led 24-0 after just three innings.

The Wolves accumulated 24 hits with Jake Taylor and Tanner Sparks going 4 for 4, including a home run apiece. Sparks scored four times.

Sparks also had a triple en route to a five-RBI performance.

Eli Davis, Cole Payne and Jacob Hill also homered for the Wolves of coach Todd Boyer. Payne’s was a grand-slam.

Davis, who also had a triple, drove in three runs and scored three times.

Shawnee chalked up seven doubles with Kade Self leading the way with three. Cale Reed had two doubles with Brandon Eropkin and Jacob Hill recording one apiece.

AJ Barron, Reed, Payne and Hill finished with two hits.

Reed, who started and went three innings, earned the victory. He gave up four hits, an unearned run, fanned three and didn’t issue a walk. Talon Phillips went the last two innings, surrendering three hits and whiffing three.

Shawnee also drew four walks and Del City posted five errors.

Shawnee will host Del City at 4:30 p.m. today.
