OKMULGEE — Meeker recorded two triumphs — a 16-3 runaway decision over Morris and a 6-4 nail-biter over Okmulgee — in Thursday matchups at the Okmulgee Tournament.

Meeker required only four innings to dispose of Morris in run-rule fashion. The Bulldogs combined 11 hits with six walks and three Morris errors.

Jonathon Jones spearheaded Meeker’s offense with a 3 of 4 outing which included four runs scored and four runs batted in.

Raceton Sedlacek, who also went 3 of 4 with a double, scored twice and drove in two runs.

Dakota Gabbert had a double among two hits and drove in four runs. Jacob Martin, who singled twice, scored three times.

Austin Frazier and Sedlacek combined for a four-inning four-hitter.

Martin, the pitching starter against Okmulgee, surrendered two runs, both earned, and five hits in three innings. He whiffed three and walked one.

Jones, in a four-inning relief stint, gave up two unearned runs on just two hits. He struck out three and walked two.

Okmulgee outhit Meeker 7-6 but the hosts made five errors. Meeker had just one error.

Martin, the leadoff hitter, was the offensive star 4 of 4 —two doubles and two singles. Gabbert added a double and Sedlacek notched a sacrifice fly.

Meeker moved to 15-10.

Weather permitting, the tournament will continue today.
