SHAWNEE – There were some shakeups in the ranks while some leads held steady Tuesday in the final day for the first go of the 2017 International Finals Youth Rodeo.

Elizabeth Broussard (Estherwood, LA) was knocked down to second with her time of 16.326 in barrel racing Monday. She was overtaken by Kelsey Cadwell (Oakdale, CA) with a split-second difference of 13.325 to slide into first.

Paige Jones (Wayne, OK) and Taylor Algrim (Blackwell, OK) held onto the top two spots in the pole bending with times of 20.375 and 20.456. Maud's Jalynn Lucy cracked the top 50 in a pool of 125 with a time of 21.697 for the 44th spot.

In the breakaway roping, Winter Williams (Copan, OK) held her 2.1 first-place lead and Kodey Hoss (La Junta, CO) was tied by Hayley Novak (Terrell, TX) with a time of 2.3 seconds.

Faith Hoffman (Kiowa, CO) didn't find any challengers to beat her 6.9 in goat tying to hold on to the lead, but Kaylee Cormier (Lake Charles, LA) came in with a 7.1 to slide into second ahead of Karissa Rayhill (Martin, SD) at 7.2 seconds.

The top nine spots in the calf roping remained unchanged as Ty Harris (San Angelo, TX) held his comfortable 7.8 second lead as Quade Hiatt (Canyon, TX) had to settle for second at 8.5.

Walt Arnold (Coleman, TX) just missed a shot to get ahead of Connor Gentry (Pleasanton, TX) in steer wrestling, leaving the two tied at 4.0 to finish the first go.

In the saddle bronc, Stetson Wright (Milford, UT) breezed through a first place finish through the first go as he held his 83.5 lead. Ean Price (Leedey, OK) took second place from Will Pollock (Utopia, TX) with scores of 68.5 and 66.5 respectively.

Hunter Ramsey (El Dorado, AR) saw has score of 73.5 slide from second down to fourth in the bareback bronc as Payton Lackey (Blanco, TX) and Tyler Johnson (Athens, TX) took over second and third. Lackey held on for a score of 78.5 and Johnson put up a 76. Jesse Pope (Garnett, KS) held onto first with a score of 81.0.

Stetson Wright held an 83.5 lead in bull riding through Tuesday morning, but was overtaken by Judd Hebert (Egan, LA) that night with a score of 85.5.

The biggest shakeup of the day was in team roping, where Stran Morris (Woodward, OK) and Jessen James (Moyers, OK) were dropped from second down to a 3-way tie for eighth-place. Logan Graham (Winthrop, AR) and Cash Davis (Winthrop, AR) held on to their lead to finish the go in first.

The second go of the IFYR will begin this morning and conclude Friday morning as competitors get one more shot to make it into the final Friday night where the top 15 from each event will square off. Performances are daily at 9 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. at the Heart of Oklahoma Exposition Center.
