SHAWNEE – The Oklahoma Baptist Women’s Soccer team is headed to Europe in preparation for the 2017 season on August 6th. Traveling first to Armenia before making the jump to England, the Lady Bison will spend nearly two weeks across the pond as they get ready for their first season as full members of the Division II.

Supporters wishing the keep up with the jet-setting Lady Bison will have the chance to follow along as juniors Sam Engles and Kaylie Lane will report back with regular updates on the Lady Bison Travel Blog.

While in Armenia, OBU work in conjunction with the Armenian Women’s National Team to help develop women’s soccer at the grassroots level during three of the six days in the country. They will then travel to the capital city of Yerevan and take in the sights before flying to London.

The first stop in England will be Cambridge before heading to Newcastle. While in Newcastle, the Lady Bison will take on Newcastle United WFC of the Football Association Women’s Premier League, the affiliate of the English Premier League’s Newcastle United FC.

Following their stint in Newcastle, the squad will make the jaunt to Harrogate in North Yorkshire, England, to take on Harrogate Town Ladies FC. The squad then heads to Doncaster, England, for their final tilt of the trip when they face Balby Carr Academy. Oklahoma Baptist will then return to the United States on August 18th.

The Lady Bison finished tied for third in last year’s Great American Conference standings after posting a 7-4-1 record in conference play and a 15-6-1 record overall. Supporters will have their first chance to catch a glimpse of the Lady Bison when they welcome Oklahoma Christian to the OBU Soccer Complex for a friendly at 6 p.m. on Thursday, August 24th.
