SHAWNEE – Oklahoma Baptist football reported for preseason camp Friday morning in preparation for their first season as full NCAA members.

About 130 players were expected to report Friday between 8 a.m. and noon.

A parents and new players meeting, concussion testing, physicals and a team meeting were on the first day agenda. After more team meetings, photos, a community service project and a camp out on the weekend, the Bison hit the practice field for the first time Monday.

The team scrimmages for the first time at 2 p.m., Aug. 12. Fan Appreciation Day is set for 6 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 26.

The season opens Sept. 2 with a noon home date against East Central. That game will be streamed by ESPN3.
