MCLOUD – The Lady Redskins of McLoud came from behind and won their season opener 8-7 against Prague Monday on a walk-off error in the bottom of the seventh.

With two outs and runners on first and second, Callie Cardin advanced to third on an error in center and came home to score for the win.

Trailing 7-2 in the bottom of the sixth, the Lady Redskins rallied with five runs to tie the game. Cardin doubled to drive in Karlee Higdon, Katelyn Hoover singled to bring in Cardin, Shyann Shipman doubled to bring home Hoover and Lexie Boyer and Shipman both scored on a single from Jessie Wooten.

Adisyn Auld cranked out a two-run double to left to give the Lady Devils a 2-0 lead in the first. Up 3-2 in the top of the fourth, Macyn Anderson grounded into a fielder's choice to bring in Brittany Harwell and Beth Denney singled to left ti bring around Taylor Hodges to go ahead 5-2. Anderson singled to center in the fifth to drive home Hodges and Karsyn Coleman.

Shipman led the Lady Redskins with two hits in four at-bats to drive in three runs. Boyer went 3-4, Wooten and Hoover each had two hits and Cardin was 1-1 with three walks and scored four runs.

Gabby Sears gave up seven runs on 11 hits with five strikeouts and five walks from the circle for McLoud.

Denney gave up 13 hits and six earned runs, walking three and striking out six for Prague.

Anderson and Auld each drove in three runs and Coleman, Auld, Anderson and Rachel Rumsey had two hits apiece.

The Lady Redskins (1-0) host Okemah today at 4:30. Prague (0-1) hosts Stroud today at 4:30.
