ASHER – Asher made quick work of Vanoss with a 15-6 home win Tuesday to open their season. The Lady Indians dispatched the Wolves in five innings with a two-run walk-off single from Laney Riggel to activate the run-rule.

The girls didn't waste any time getting going, with a 10-run first inning to cruise ahead 10-1. Bailey Larman hit a two-run triple, Riggle brought in two more with a double and Braxten Frazier took a walk to score one more run. Rayanna Cheatwood, Riggel, Larman and Jordan Odell each scored on wild pitches and Frazier came home on an error.

Fleming drove in two runs in the third and Larman brought home one.

Riggel, Larman and Odell had two hits apiece.

Gracy Hadley gave up six runs, three earned, on five hits in the circle and struck out five and walked eight.

The girls travel to Henryetta Friday to face Henryetta and Webber Falls. Games are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m.
