Leadoff hitter Rian Gamble went 3 for 4 Thursday, igniting Bethel to a 10-3 triumph over Mustang’s JV squad at the Chisholm Trail Classic at FireLake.

Bethel accumulated 14 hits with McGowen, Maylin Hladik, Mya Green and Peyton Meiler notching two apiece.

Green had a double while Hladik fashioned a triple. Hladik also drove in four runs.

Karlie Lamb and Green drove in two runs apiece.

Hladik also got the pitching win with a seven-hitter. She walked three.

In its second matchup, Bethel dropped a 5-2 decision to Piedmont after scoring both of its runs in the top of the first inning.

Piedmont took the lead with four runs in the fourth.

Bethel racked up six hits with McGowen and Green having two apiece. Gamble, Zordyn Zachary and Green each had a double.

Zachary, who absorbed the pitching loss, allowed seven hits in 5 1/3 innings. She fanned five and walked one.

Bethel is 1-2 entering today’s Classic action. Bethel will meet Lone Grove at 2:30, followed by Cache at 5:30.
