RIPLEY — After being no-hit 9-0 by Amber-Pocasset, Maud rebounded to knock off Wellston, 6-2, and Tonkawa, 10-4, Thursday at the Ripley Tournament.

The Lady Tigers posted a single run in the first inning against Wellston, then put up five more runs in the third. The game was called after four innings because of a time limit.

Victorious pitcher Jaycee Gamble, who went the first three innings, surrendered two runs (both unearned). She whiffed four, permitted one hit and walked one.

Reliever Jada Wright retired the side in order in the fourth.

Maud compiled nine hits with Wright banging out two triples. Autumn Harrington added a double and Megan Willis recorded two singles.

The Lady Tigers blitzed Tonkawa for 12 hits with Jocee Sparks leading the way with a grandslam home run, a double and a single. Wright added a double and two singles.

Wright earned the pitching win with a two-hitter in the five-inning contest. She fanned three and walked four

Maud, 3-1, will continue tournament play Friday against a team which has yet to be determined.

Maud will entertin Silo Monday and Asher Tuesday.
