ASHER – The Lady Tigers of Maud and rival Asher had a slew of errors in two games Saturday on the final day of the Asher tournament. Maud won the first game 2-1 courtesy of an error in the top of the fifth and plowed to a 13-4 win in the later game.

An error at short with two outs allowed Megan Willis to reach base and Jordan Brewer to score for the game-winning run of the early game.

Sarah Fleming reached on a two-out error for Asher in the bottom of the first that gave Jordan Odell the opportunity to come home and give the Lady Indians the advantage. Madison Whitman doubled in the top of the second to bring in Jada Wright.

Jaycee Gamble won the game in the circle, striking out five and giving up one run on three hits. Odell allowed two runs and two hits and struck out three. None of the runs against either pitcher were earned. Asher committed five errors and Maud had three.

Jocee Sparks ruled the second game for Maud with three hits in three at-bats that included a three-run double. Aubrey Tuttle drove in two runs on a double and went 2-3 and Willis was 3-4 with a double. Gamble and Autumn Harrington drove in two runs apiece.

Gamble allowed four runs on five hits, all unearned, and struck out five. Odell gave up eight earned runs on 12 hits, struck out four and walked one. Maud committed six errors in the game and Asher had seven.

Asher (6-3) will travel to Lexington Tuesday. Maud (9-2) hosts Lexington Monday at 4:30 and will play at Dale Tuesday at 5:30.
