ASHER —Roff swept Asher 9-1 and 12-2 Monday.

In the opener, Roff tallied four runs in the third and sixth inning.

Asher’s only run, by Braden Sanders, came in the bottom of the fourth. Jayse Beverage drove in Sanders with a single.

Asher compiled nine runs to go along with three walks but couldn’t get timely hits.

Jake Dobbs, Chase Eckart and JR Hasbell chalked up two hits each.

Hasbell went the first six innings for Asher and suffered the loss. He gave up eight runs on 10 hits.

Asher was outhit 12-2 in the seven-inning nightcap.

Cam Grissom and Mike McDonald had a hit apiece for Asher.

“At this point, we are playing people who are a little better than us position-by-position,” Asher coach Shane Coker said. “But that’s the way we play to get better come playoff time.”

Asher will play in the Latta Tournament Thursday through Saturday.
