SEMINOLE — Haylee Alexander’s first-inning run proved to be the difference Monday as Tecumseh trimmed Seminole 1-0.

Alexander, after getting a hit in the first inning, scored on a single by Kalie Johnson.

That’s all the help Tecumseh pitcher Channing Scallorn required. Scallorn was touched for four singles. She fanned six batters and didn’t issue a walk as Tecumseh improved to 7-5.

Alexander went 2 for 3, a double and single, as Seminole hurler Hayden Harjo fashioned a nifty four-hitter. Harjo, in seven innings, whiffed two and didn’t walk a batter.

Tecumseh will entertain McGuinness at 5 p.m. today. The Lady Savages will play host to Blanchard at 6:30 Thursday before taking a holiday break. Tecumseh will resume its schedule Sept. 5 against visiting Stillwater.

Seminole will be home against Newcastle today, then travel to Stroud Thursday.
