LATTA – David Herring and Gant Hathcock drove in two runs each and the Dale Pirates took down Rock Creek 11-2 on the road Thursday at the Latta Tournament.

Leading 3-0. Hathcock led off the fifth with a single to center and stole second to get into scoring position and set up Blake McQuain for an RBI double and kick off a six-run rally. Drew Reed hit an RBI single, Carson Hunt was handed a bases loaded walk and Cooper Hunt sacrificed to center to go up 7-0. Hathcock capped the inning with a two-run single to left.

Scout Capps, Herring, Cooper Hunt and McQuain each doubled in the game and Crawford had an RBI triple.

The Pirates split the pitching four ways, with Carson Hunt throwing for the majority with three strikeouts, three hits, five walks and two runs in four innings of work. Cooper Hunt tossed for two innings and McQuain and Reed each threw one inning.
