TUSHKA — The top-ranked Dale Lady Pirates continued to plunder Friday with victories over Rock Creek (13-1), Kingston (7-0) and Wister (7-4) in bracket play of the Tushka Tournament.

Dale, 18-0, will continue tournament play at 12:40 today against Savanna. Should Dale prevail, it would put them in the championship game. The Lady Pirates would then have to be defeated twice to come up short of the crown.

There are 20-plus teams in the tournament.

Friday’s opener against Rock Creek went just three innings because of the 12-run-after-3 rule. Dale tallied six runs in the first and second innings, then closed out the game with a run in the bottom of the third.

Premo permitted four hits, struck out four and walked one.

London Calvilllo led the 13-hit attack with three singles and four runs batted in. Montana Lam had a double and single while Premo finished with two singles.

The Kingston game was stopped after six innings on a time limit. Premo again took the pitching win with a one-hitter, facing just 16 batters. She lost her bid for a perfect game in the bottom of the fifth inning on a two-out, 2-strike pitch.

“It was a Texas Leaguer, a bleeder over the shortstop’s head,” Dale coach Andy Powell said. “That’s the best game I’ve ever seen her throw.”

Delanie Manning headed Dale’s 12-hit attack with two doubles and an RBI. Mikayla Rutland and Emmie Idleman added a double and single apiece. Lam finished with two singles and three runs batted in.

Opposite Wister, the time limit came into being after four innings.

Manning got the win with two innings of pitching. Premo pitched in the third and fourth innings.

Thursday, Dale knocked off Durant 2-0 as Manning surrendered just three hits in seven innings. She fanned six and didn’t walk a batter.

“Delanie threw it as good as I’ve seen her throw it,” Powell said. “Durant is a good team, the 5A state runner-up and has a really good pitcher. Delanie threw the heck out of it.”

Rutland collected a run-scoring single in the third inning, then drove in a fifth-inning run with a squeeze bunt.
