MCLOUD – Bethel came close to going home with the champion title in the McLoud softball tournament Saturday, but were bested by Harrah on a grand slam and passed ball to lose the title game 5-4 and finish runner-up.

The Lady Wildcats held a 4-0 lead going to the bottom of the fifth, but a single and two walks loaded up the bases for Harrah and set up a grand slam to tie up the game. A passed ball in the bottom of the seventh gave the Lady Panthers the walk-off win.

Jordyn Zachary got things moving for the Lady Wildcats with a single in the top of the second to score Karlie Lamb. Rayah Mayo hit into a double play that scored another run to take a 2-0 lead. Lamb hit an RBI single in the top of the third and Mya Green doubled to score Lamb in the fifth.
