CARL ALBERT – Shawnee split Putnam City and Muskogee Saturday at the Carl Albert Tournament to finish the tournament 2-2. The girls beat Putnam City 8-3 and lost to Muskogee 4-3.

Kristin Haddox sacrificed to score Tatum Sparks and Carlie Torbett singled to drive in Sadie Smith and take a 2-0 lead in the top of the first against Putnam City, but the girls gave up two runs in the bottom half to start over at square one.

Sparks reached on an error in the second to bring home Skyla Copeland and retake the lead.

Haddox singled in the sixth to drive in Sparks, Smith and Haddox each scored on wild pitches and Torbett drove in a run with a single.

Baylie Enright gave up six hits walked four and struck out four in the win.

Pitching against Muskogee, Enright fanned five and walked one but gave up eight hits and four runs.

With Muskogee leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Sparks doubled to bring in a run and scored on an error with Smith at the plate to even up the score. A two out error in the sixth scored the game winning run for Muskogee.

The Lady Wolves (12-8) host Western Heights Tuesday at 5:00 p.m.
