DALE – The Class 2A No. 1 ranked Dale Lady Pirates shut out 3A No. 5 Kellyville 6-0 on senior night Thursday evening.
“It was good to get a win against a quality team as we head into regionals,” coach Andy Powell said. “We didn't swing as well as I thought we should've. In the end I feel good about the victory.”
The Lady Pirates got on the board in the bottom of the third inning with Delanie Manning's seventh home run of the season.
Dale rallied in the fourth inning, as Rylie Premo drove in pinch runner Danyn Lang to make it 2-0 in favor of Dale. Emmie Idleman brought Montana Lam around and Sydney Griggs scored Idleman to give the Lady Pirates a 4-0 advantage.
They tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the sixth.
Manning struck out four in the complete game win in the circle.
The game was the home sendoff for seniors Mikayla Rutland, London Calvillo and Kaylee Lawson.
