SEMINOLE — The Chieftains of Seminole shook off a loss last week to Lincoln Christian by crushing Dickson 44-6 Friday night.

Receiver Jordan Rodriguez and quarterback Cade Hammond hooked up on touchdown passes of 16, 33 and 39 yards as Seminole improved to 4-1.

The Chieftains led 12-0 at the intermission and 30-0 entering the fourth quarter.

Coach Mike Snyder’s victors rushed for 312 yards on 44 carries, a 7.0-yard average.

Cameron Gunville was the top Chieftain rusher with 267 yards on 27 carries, including a 97-yard run for Seminole’s second touchdown.

Dickson was limited to 103 rushing yards on 32 attempts. The visitors also were held to 23 passing yards on 4 of 15 attempts. Seminole received interceptions from Chico Baker and Justin Hamilton.

Seminole finished with 118 yards through the air on 6 of 14 attempts.

Baker also had a 4-yard scoring run and a 2-point conversion run. Kieran Marshall scored from the 3-yard line.

Seminole will be idle next weekend, then return to action Oct. 6 with a 7:30 p.m. home game versus Madill.
