WEWOKA — Down 18-7 in the second quarter, Meeker ran off 53 unanswered points to pummel Wewoka 60- 18 in a district opener Friday night.
Senior Brett Roach scored three touchdowns while amassing 182 rushing yards on 32 attempts.
Meeker rolled up 355 yards on 54 rushes for a 6.5-yard average.
Quarterback Jacob Martin scored twice, including a 90-yard kickoff return to start the second half. Martin finished with 88 rushing yards.
Meeker led just 19-18 at the intermission but expanded the advantage to 40-18 entering the fourth quarter.
Martin also threw a 3-yard scoring pass to Jonathan Jones to close out the first-half scoring.
Meeker’s last two touchdowns came on a 5-yard run by Raceton Sedlacek and a 1-yard run by freshman JJ Bloomer.
Wewoka posted 164 rushing yards and 248 passing yards but lost four fumbles. The Tigers were also penalized 15 times for 115 yards.
Darian Roberts of Wewoka had touchdown runs of 77 and 2 yards in addition to fielding a 59-yard scoring pass from Kaden Boswell.
Meeker’s Clark Carlisle was 6 of 6 in the extra-point department.
Caden Wolford, Xavier Masquas and Martin notched seven tackles apiece.
Meeker, 2-2 overall and 1-0 in the district, will travel to Stroud Friday for a 7 p.m. kickoff.
