TULSA — Tecumseh launched its district campaign Friday night with a 48-24 dismantling of Tulsa Central.
The Savages, 3-1 overall, held a 20-8 lead after one quarter and a 35-8 intermission advantage.
Tecumseh’s Jarad Maxwell and Caleb Kelsey recorded touchdown interception returns of 51 and 47 yards respectively.
Victorious coach Ty Bullock said the Savages’ rushing attack was led by seniors Brayden James and Brendan Calvillo.
“Tulsa Central scored first, but I loved the way the kids fought back,” Bullock said. “We were playing as hard at the end of the game as we did at the start.
“We had great preparation from the coaches. Tulsa Central had a lot of speed and size, but the kids didn’t back down.”
Tecumseh, 3-1 overall, will be home against Blanchard Friday in another district matchup. The kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m.
