MEEKER — It was a .500 district tournament outing for Meeker Thursday.
The Lady Bulldogs, after being upended 11-4 by Pocola, rebounded for a 10-3 triumph over Jones.
Meeker led Pocola 3-2 after five innings, only to be blitzed for seven runs in the top of the sixth.
Pocola outhit Meeker 16-7 and didn’t commit an error. Meeker was charged with three errors in seven innings.
Kristen Park, who went 2 for 4 at the plate, had Meeker’s only extra-base hit with a double.
Teammate Kaycee Babek added two singles.
Callie Sellers stole two bases for Meeker.
Dache’ Benge of Pocola hit a home run. Kenzie Tuck posted two of Pocola’s five doubles.
Starter Madison Gabeau took the pitching loss after giving up nine runs in 5 2/3 innings.
Meeker trailed Jones 3-0 before erupting for six runs in the top of the fourth.
Meeker finished with 14 hits as Halle Calvillo led the way at 3 of 3, including a triple. She drove in two runs and scored twice.
Aubrey Pruitt, Madison Hedge and Park added two hits each with Park posting a triple. Lexi Lopez notched a triple while Madison Buoy and Babek had a double apiece.
Gabeau rebounded with a seven-inning six-hitter for the win. Gabeau registered five strikeouts and walked three. Only one of the three Jones’ runs was earned.
