Following a one-day rain postponement, Shawnee will once again try to host a regional tournament.

Coach David Rolette’s Lady Wolves will engage Tulsa Hale at noon today in the opener of the four-team double-elimination format at the FireLake fields.

Skiatook and Collinsville will meet up at 2 p.m. today. The losers of the noon and 2 p.m. games will square off in a 4 p.m. elimination contest. The noon and 2 p.m. winners will play each other at 6 p.m.

Shawnee is coming off Monday victories over Varnum (6-4) and Blackwell (1-0).

Shawnee hasn’t played Tulsa Hale or Collinsville this season but did oppose Skiatook twice. Skiatook prevailed by one run at Skiatook, while the Lady Wolves were victorious by one run in an extra-inning decision in Shawnee.

Rolette said six Lady Wolves have hit home runs this year with freshman Tatum Sparks the leader with five.

“Everybody is available to play,” Rolette said.

The regional champion will advance to next Thursday’s state tournament at Oklahoma City’s Hall of Fame Stadium.

Shawnee is 20-10 on the season.
