LONE GROVE — Tecumseh finds itself in a precarious position after going 1-1 Thursday at a regional tournament.
The Lady Savages, after dropping a 4-3 decision to Blanchard in their opener, rebounded for an 11-6 losers bracket victory over Cache.
To earn a berth in next week’s state tournament, Tecumseh needs three straight regional victories, beginning with a noon elimination game today opposite Blanchard. If Tecumseh wins that matchup, it would then have to defeat regional No. 1 seed Lone Grove twice.
In Thursday’s opener, Blanchard rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a single run in the bottom of the fifth, followed by a 2-run sixth and the winning run the seventh.
Blanchard outhit Tecumseh 11-6.
No Tecumseh player had more than one hit.
Starter Colbie Meeks, who went the first 5 1/3 innings, permitted seven hits, two runs and fanned one. Channing Scallorn gave up two runs and four hits in 1 1/3 innings.
Against Cache, Tecumseh received three doubles from Scallorn. Annie Boatman went 4 for 4 with a double, three singles and three runs batted in. Kalie Johnson had two hits and drove in a run. She also scored twice.
Baylee Kennedy drove in three run as Tecumseh compiled 15 hits.
Scallorn, who hurled the first 3 1/3 innings, gave up five runs on five hits. She fanned one and walked two. Meeks surrendered one run and two hits in 1 2/3 innings.
