EDMOND – The Shawnee boys took ninth-place at the Class 6A state cross country meet in Edmond Saturday and Tecumseh's Kayla McGruder represented her school in the girls 5A race.

Clifford Littleton led Shawnee with a 8th-place overall finish in 16:14.77 behind Stillwater's Vlad Munteanu (16:14.24) and Gabe Simonsen (16:13.54) from Mustang.

Kyle Henry finished the race in 16:37.25 for 17th and Brice Koons finished in 17:17.71 for 54th in the pool of 111. Buddy Cahall (17:46.53), David Skinner-McAfee (17:53.40), Jacob Cahall (18:03.88) and Clay Dominy (18:26.76) also raced for the Wolves.

McGruder put up her best time of the season with a 20:50.06 finish to take 20th overall in the girls 5A race. It was the Savages juniors fastest time of the season.
