Cope's putback gives Macomb win

MASON – Darian Rougeux missed a late shot, but a putback by Blaine Cope at the buzzer kept Macomb from going into overtime in a 48-46 win over Mason Tuesday night.

The Hornets trailed 40-32 after three but powered out a 16-6 run in the fourth to take the win capped on Cope's putback on top of a late pair of free-throws that saw him end with four points, all in the clutch.

Rougeux led the team with 16 points and had two 3-pointers, Andrew Boydstun had 12 and Caleb Browning contributed 10.

Mason's Daniel Gordon led all scorers with 19 points and Jake Weaver put up 17.

Macomb (3-2) hosts Sasakwa Friday at 8.

Lady Hornets fall to Mason

MASON – Despite a strong performance by Kelsey Dillon and Maelee Hancock, the Macomb Lady Hornets suffered a 64-55 loss at Mason Tuesday night.

Dillon had 21 points with two 3-pointers and was 5-8 from the line and Hancock was 9-12 with 19 points in the loss.

Mason's Keyona Lindsey led all scorers with 29 points.

The middle school girls lost their game 22-13, led by Kathleen Dobbs with nine points.

The Lady Hornets will host Sasakwa Friday at 6:30.
