OKLAHOMA CITY — Tecumseh, down just 27-22 at the intermission, was blitzed 75-40 by Mt. St. Mary Friday night.
St. Mary outscored the Savages 27-8 in the third quarter and 27-10 in the fourth quarter.
“We got our teeth kicked in in the second half,” Tecumseh coach Eric Litherland said. “We didn’t defend in the second half to save our lives. I don’t know what we did well. We just didn’t respond in the second half.”
Anthony Billy and Zathan Bowman collected nine points apiece for the Savages, now 1-1.
The Savages will play host to Harrah Tuesday night.
The Lady Savages fell behind 33-10 at the intermission and were unable to recover in dropping a 60-33 decision to Mt. St. Mary.
Senior Annie Boatman led Tecumseh with nine points. Courtney Mansell chipped in with eight points, including two 3-point field goals.
Tecumseh fell to 0-2. Coach Matt Thornton’s squad will be home Tuesday against Class 4A top-ranked Harrah.
