EL RENO — Senior Carson Meier produced 21 points but it wasn’t enough to keep Shawnee from dropping a 60-48 decision to El Reno Tuesday night.

Ramey Harrison was Shawnee’s only other double-figure scorer with 10.

Meier and teammate Brayden McGinnis collected two 3-point field goals apiece. Teammate Daryl Busby also had a 3-pointer.

The second quarter was disastrous for Shawnee as it was outscored 17-4 and trailed 30-14 at halftime.

Dyson Plumlee was the leading scorer for El Reno with 18 points. Eli Hollis added 17 points for the victors.

A.J. Sioux and Rhett Kouba of El Reno knocked down two 3-point field goals.

Shawnee was six of nine from the charity stripe while El Reno was five of eight.

Shawnee’s boys (1-1) will see their next action Tuesday night against visiting Carl Albert. Shawnee’s boys will also be home Friday, Dec. 15 opposite Ada.


Shawnee defeated El Reno 44-34 Tuesday night after trailing 20-16 at the half.

Senior Kasey Rice led Shawnee with 24 points and seven rebounds.
