KINGSTON — Dale blasted Rock Creek with a 21-7 first quarter on the way to a 49-24 semifinal triumph Friday night at the Kingston New Year’s Classic.
Improving to 11-1, third-ranked Dale advanced to tonight’s 6:30 championship finale opposite Kingston, a semifinal winner over Latta.
Mikayla Rutland of Dale tallied 13 points, including 3 of 3 free throws and two 3-point field goals.
Rylee Thompson, Lindy Nowakowski and Elaine Witt added seven points each for Dale
Rock Creek, ranked 19th in 2A, is 9-3.
“We got off to a really good start,” Dale coach Josh Forsythe said. “We did a good job of controlling the tempo and we defended really well.”
Only one Rock Creek player netted more than four points.
