PRAGUE— The Prague Lady Red Devils jumped all over the Okemah Lady Panthers early and cruised to a 54-43 66 Conference Tournament title Saturday night.
Prague led 11-2 with 2:38 left to play in the opening quarter, and the Lady Red Devils leading scorer, Chantae Embry, was held scoreless during that opening launch. Embry got on the board with :52 left in the quarter after Okemah's Nataya Wilson hit a three to cut the lead to 11-5. Embry's hoop gave Prague a 13-5 at the end of one.
That bucket ignited the freshman as she scored nine points in the second quarter to vault the Lady Red Devils to a 31-19 lead at the half. Embry finished with 15 points.
Okemah was able to hang around in the second half, cutting the lead to nine points on two separate occasions, but Prague was just too much.
Morgan Cooper had a big second half, scoring eight of her 13 points and with her jumper at 4:02 in the final quarter gave the Lady Red Devils the 50-30 lead and the title. Macyn Anderson chipped in nine more points for Prague.
Okemah's Jacie Harelson led all scorers with 18 and Wilson netted 14. Morgan Bean added eight for the Lady Panthers.
