JONES — Bethel’s girls rode a 15-5 first-quarter edge into a 42-35 victory over Tecumseh Saturday in the consolation championship game of the Prague Tournament.
Faith Hannah led Bethel’s scoring with 15, followed by Paige Hubler with 14. Hubler and teammate Kelsie Wood drained two 3-point field goals apiece.
Kilee Jones topped Tecumseh’s scoring with 11 and Taylor Walker had nine. Courtney Courtney Mansell of Tecumseh hit two 3-pointers.
Bethel connected in 15-of-22 free throws for 68.1 percent. Tecumseh was 6-of-10 for 60 percent.
Tecumseh (4-12) cut its deficit to 19-16 at the half but never quite got over the hump.
The two teams will play again Tuesday at Bethel.
