JONES — Down 28-24 to Centennial at halftime, Bethel’s boys outscored the Oklahoma City squad 40-22 over the final 16 minutes to record a 64-50 win in the third-place game of the Jones Tournament Saturday.
Jaylon Gordon, who connected on four 3-point field goals, was Bethel’s leading scorer with 18 points. Ben Pfeiff contributed 15 points and fellow Wildcat Anthony Franklin added 14 as Bethel improved to 9-8.
Franklin added two 3-point field goals and Devin Acklin had one trey.
“I was really proud of the way we responded after a tough loss to Tecumseh Friday night in the semifinals,” Bethel coach Bryan Jennings said. “Hopefully it shows we are getting better.”
Bethel will be home against Tecumseh Tuesday night.
