SHAWNEE – The Great American Conference Monday selected Oklahoma Baptist's McKenzie Cooper as its Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Cooper graduated from Shawnee High School in 2014 and was a member of the 2012 Class 5A and 2011 Class 3A Shawnee state championship teams.

Cooper, a 5-9 junior, led the Lady Bison to a pair of road wins last week, averaging 26.5 points per game. She shot 52 percent from the field, including 54 percent (14-26) from three-point range.

It is Cooper's first GAC Player of the Week award and OBU's second this season. Tasha Edge won the honor January 1.

An honorable mention All-Conference selection in 2016, Cooper was a NAIA honorable mention All-American, Sooner Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year and earned SAC Player of the Week honors in OBU's final NAIA season in 2015.
