PRAGUE – Things got out of hand in a hurry for Meeker Saturday as they took a short trip down the road to Prague. Meeker lost too much ground early on in the 74-30 loss as Prague continued to roll through the season.
Chantae Embry gave the Lady Devils the lead early and Prague never trailed.
Embry had seven points of a 9-3 run to start the game capped on a pair of free-throws to lead with 4:22 left in the first. Meeker bounced back with a triple by Emily Trevino and a bucket from Maddie Hedge to make it a one-point game. Hedge went to the line after being fouled on her shot, but missed her free-throw that would have tied it at nine with 3:28 left in the first.
The teams traded points and Embry kicked off a 13-0 run into the early minutes of the second quarter to go ahead 24-10 on a shot by Caya Wright.
The Lady Bulldogs went one and done for the rest of the half as Prague rallied ahead 45-20 by the break in action.
Aubrey Pruitt put in a bucket to start off the second half for Meeker, but a 3-pointer by Macyn Anderson and two baskets by Embry kicked in a 19-5 run for Prague to lead 64-26 after the third.
Embry and the rest of the starters took a rest in the fourth as the reserves finished up the game for the Lady Devils.
Embry led all scorers with 26 points, Macyn Anderson had 11 with three treys. Morgan Cooper had 10 with eight in the third and Adisyn Auld had 10 off the bench with two triples.
Trevino led Meeker with nine, Lexi Lopez had seven and Liz Jones had six.
